The 2012 show season has just about come to an end. The first show we went to was Old Home Week in Charlottetown PEI. It was the first year we attend OHW and we were very pleased with the hospitality we received. It was a blast! Then we headed to St. Mary's (Expo Kent). Dusty Breeze Zanzibar 1Z was Reserve Champion Angus Male! Burnside Tara 24Y was Reserve Champion Hereford Female! Dusty Breeze Farm was named Premier Exhibitor as well. Bob 465X won Champion Dorset ram, and then won Supreme Champion Ram!! From there we went to the Oxford Exhibition. The kids competed in 4-H events. All of their cattle and sheep made it to the provincial show. Nicole had Reserve Champion welding project and had the Grand Champion Suffolk Lamb. Allison won grand champion jr. cake decorating judge and jr. beef judge! She also had reserve champion cake decorating entry. Beverly won the Jr. Hostess competition and she had Champion craft competition. Then the Fall shows started. At the NB Beef Expo Burnside Tara 24Y was second in her class. At the Nova Scotia 4-H Show Beverly got first with Burnside Yaris 36Y. She also won Champion Jr. craft competition. Allison got 4th with her lamb. Nicole got 2nd with her welding project. The last show was the Maritime Fall Fair in Halifax. We entered a calf in the Cinderella Classic for the first time, and Beverly won Best Dressed! We had a very good show season and got to meet many new people and made lots of new friends. There is just one more show left to attend, but this time we will be more relaxed. Harriett and Nicole will be headed to Farmfair International 2012 in Edmonton Alberta. They will have lots of pictures and stories to share when they get back!!
